Meet our Team: Alicia Webster

Tell us a little about you and your experience

My name is Alicia Webster and I am the newly appointed Clinical Program Manager for DC Forensic Nurses and have been working as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for the past three years. In addition to providing forensic medical care for hundreds of survivors, I am also a Ph.D. Health Policy student at the University of New Mexico. Research areas include sexual violence prevention, LGBTQ health, and intersectionality.

Why did you choose forensic nursing as a profession?

I chose forensic nursing as a profession because it allows me to give back to surviors of sexual assault and domestc violence in a way that is unmatched in any other nursing specialty.

What is your favorite thing about being a forensic nurse?

My favorite thing about being a forensic nurse is being able to help patients during the worst time of their lives. Helping them through these traumatic times in a sensitive and caring manner not only brings about positive patient outcomes, but also proves to be intrinsically rewarding for me as well.

What are you looking forward to accomplishing at DCFNE as the new Clinical Program Manager?

In my new position, I am looking forward to seeing the organization grow and change as we learn about the best way to provide our services to our patients.
