Caring for survivors of sexual assault is at the heart of our mission. That is why we proudly commemorate Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) each April. This year, the SAAM campaign's theme is “Building Connected Communities." Along with the SAAM partners across the US, we call on all individuals to come together as a community and support those who have experienced sexual violence.
Join us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as we bring awareness to sexual violence in the District of Columbia. We'll answer and address common questions and misconceptions surrounding sexual assault, and share sexual assault facts specific to Washington, DC. Tag us in your own posts honoring SAAM by wearing the color teal on Tuesday, April 2nd for "The SAAM Day of Action" and denim on Wednesday, April 24th for "Denim Day: Wear Jeans with a Purpose."
