July 13, 2023: DCFNE was highlighted by the Washington City Paper for our assistance in developing a new bill, introduced by Councilmember Charles Allen, that will require the District to preserve all evidence related to sexual assault, regardless if the crime is reported to law enforcement. March 29, 2023: For our 10 year anniversary, DCFNE was highlighted in the Washington City Paper for providing extensive, trauma-informed care for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and family violence. We were also recognized for our Forensic Teaching Associate Training Program, which equips forensic nurses with the skills and tools they need to provide patient-focused care.
